WebSite Source Offers Free Domains
Web Hosting provider WebSite Source announced that it would begin offering free domain registration for hosting customers. The company is now offering “all-inclusive” hosting packages, which it says include everything needed for customers to start and maintain their own successful businesses.
Hosting ZOOM Increases Web Hosting Storage
Web hosting provider Hosting ZOOM announced on Monday that it has increased storage and traffic on its shared and reseller hosting plans with no rise in cost.
Paris Hilton Ad Crashes Hamburger Site
A Web site distributing Paris Hilton’s racy television advertisement for burger chain Carl’s Jr. was down for four hours as Internet surfers rushed to see the scantily-clad Hotel heiress soaked in suds. The 30-second commercial, which features Hilton washing a Bentley and chomping on Carl’s Jr.’s Spicy BBQ Burger in a revealing black swimsuit, hit TV airwaves last Thursday.

Web Hosting Tip of the Week
Every so often you just need a quick nugget of knowledge. The Web hosting tip of the week is brought to you by Mitchelaneous. Mitchelaneous is my own personal writing space where I go one on one with you everyday with some of my Web hosting articles, random postings and updates on my current projects.
Do you have a Web host or even a data center provider that you are really happy with? Do you think you would never move away from these fine folks? Then why are you still paying a monthly fee for their services? This week’s tip is to move away from paying a monthly fee and start paying a yearly one instead. If you are happy with the service and support, why not get that price cut that comes along with it? If you are trying out a new company then I’d say stay with monthly payments. Why? Well it makes it a lot easier to get out of if you end up not being happy. If you are happy though, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be saving a few dollars here and there if you can.

The world of Web hosting needs more gimmicks. Turn on any professional wrestling show on today and you will see more gimmicks than you can wrap your head around. Now this doesn’t mean that you need to get yourself a pair of spandex shorts to get yourself noticed in the Web hosting world, but it could help. You need to do something that will separate you from the rest of the crowd. The Web hosting industry by definition is thought of being a very black and white place. Most people think of it as being very dull and not that charismatic or exciting. Lets grab those kinds of folks and turn them on their heads!
What is your Web hosting company’s name? Is there anything you could do to put a pun on it? A few weeks ago I was reviewing Big Fish Hosting, and told him he should use a “Catch of the Day” or something to that effect for his Web hosting specials. You see it all works into the fishing gimmick.
You could introduce a character or mascot for the company. That way you would have a character that folks would see and then automatically think about your Web hosting company.
There are many different ways you can get noticed, but only a few folks out there are taking advantages of gimmicks in a good way. Lets get away from slapping unlimited all over the place and get back into making the Web hosting industry somewhere more fun and imaginative to work and play.
