Web Hosting Podcast Turns One Year Old
On February 13, 2006 the self proclaimed one and only voice of the Web hosting world, the Web Hosting Show will turn one year old. With the also self proclaimed media rock star of the Web hosting industry at the helm, Mitch Keeler, the Web Hosting Show has grown to become a cult favorite inside and outside of Web hosting circles around the world. To ring in the one year celebration, Drift 2 Hosting (http://www.drift2.com) has donated a free domain name and Web hosting account into the mix to be given away on the anniversary date.
The Web Hosting Show is a weekly podcast. For those not familiar with the term, a podcast is a way of publishing files (usually audio or video) to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to an RSS feed or visit the Web site manually to get new content. “Something like this would have never made it on traditional radio, but thanks to podcasting a niche audience gets content they are interested in.” Mitch says about distribution of his show. Late in 2005, the Web Hosting Show’s content was picked to become a part of the lineup on CoolCast Radio (http://www.coolcastradio.com). Also last year, the Web Hosting Show was named the best Web hosting industry related service for the month of September 2005 by the Web Host Magazine and Buyers Guide (http://www.webhostmagazine.com).
“I couldn’t have reached the one year mark without the Web Hosting Show’s fans and supporters. Without the help of Web Hosting Chat (http://www.webhostingchat.com), I doubt I could have even gotten this idea off the ground. Nearly everyone I’ve met over the past year has wanted to help the show out in one way or another, so I don’t see it being killed off any time soon.” says Mitch while looking back at what has made the podcast a success.
As far as the giveaway in conjunction with Drift 2 Hosting, Mitch says he wants the Web Hosting Show fans to simply drop him an E-mail and tell him why they need the one year of free web hosting and the domain name that goes along with it. “Since day one I’ve wanted to help folks both inside and outside of the usual Web hosting circles, so if anybody needs the hosting just drop me an E-mail at mitch@mitchkeeler.com!” Mitch says. As the date draws closer, Mitch hopes to have a few more surprises lined up for the big show.
The Web Hosting Show’s one year anniversary will also be the fiftieth hosting podcast that has been produced by Mitch Keeler. As the executive producer and host of the weekly podcast, Mitch say that he is looking forward to the future of the show the most and bringing in as many listeners as he can.
