Hello I am Mitch Keeler (your personal guru of choice) and welcome to the Web Hosting Show, the one and only voice of the Web hosting world. This show is supported each and every week by the fine folks over at Web Hosting Chat. Web Hosting Chat is your number one place for Web hosting discussions.
So you want to know who won the Web Hosting Show birthday giveaway? Well, to get this celebration going on the right foot, I’m going to let you know right now.
It wasn’t an easy choice. I got a few dozen entries in, but only one person could be picked. I stuck everybody’s name in a hat and the one I pulled out is…
David Gunn
David will be taking home with him a free domain and Web hosting account from Drift 2 Hosting. He will also be getting a $50 BrowseHosts.com credit as well.
Thanks to everybody who entered the contest, and who knows? We could be doing this again some time soon. Now do you want to get my attention? Just shoot me over and E-mail at mitch@mitchkeeler.com with all your feedback, thoughts, suggestions and comments and I’ll be sure to address them either offline or right here on this very podcast.

Future Of Hosting Industry To Be Revealed At HostingCon 2006
As companies and individuals continue to expand their use of hosting services and hosted applications, hosting providers have new opportunities to provide valuable services to their customers. HostingCon 2006 will feature three keynotes that will expose the trends in the hosting industry, what successful hosting providers are doing to succeed, and how the hosting industry fits into mainstream IT.
Mitch’s Take: Once again HostingCon makes it into another edition of the Web Hosting Show. HostingCon 2006 is shaping up to be one conference that can not be missed. Here are just a few names that have so far been confirmed for the big event.
Thornton May – Executive Director and Dean at the IT Leadership Academy
Ian Andrusyk – President and CEO of FastServers.Net
Lou Honick – CEO of HostMySite.com
Robert Marsh – CEO of EV1Servers
Jeffrey Stibel – President and CEO of Interland
Web Host Opposes US Wire Tapping
Web hosting provider ThinkHost announced on Friday that it is putting its support behind efforts to oppose the Bush administration’s claiming the right to impose wire tapping on American citizens.
Mitch’s Take: Now I am not going to give my opinion one way or the other on this matter. I really do not want hate mail from either side of this argument right now. What I will talk about is ThinkHost’s promise. They say for every dollar a customer gives to one of the approved organizations, ThinkHost will provide the customer with two dollars of free Web hosting services, up to a maximum of $50 annually.
Webmail.us Launches Company Directory
Email hosting provider Webmail.us announced on Wednesday it has released a new service, the Webmail company directory. The company directory is targeted to companies with fewer than 200 employees, but Webmail plans to scale the feature to support larger companies.
Mitch’s Take: So what is Webmail.us doing here? The Web mail company directory provides email administrators and users a number of capabilities. E-mail administrators can create multiple directories across multiple domains, as well as the ability to specify which users should be included in each directory. This is one more useful tool from the folks at Webmail.us.

Web Hosting Tip of the Week
Every so often you just need a quick nugget of Web hosting knowledge. The Web hosting tip of the week is brought to you by Mitchelaneous. Mitchelaneous is my own tech news and views Web site, where I tell you what I think about some of the new things coming out of the technology world.
The world of podcast Web hosting is becoming more crowded each and every day. Once of the new faces out there in the industry right now is Podcast FM. Podcast FM claims to be “the one-stop solution for podcast hosting and syndication”. Do they live up to these claims? Well, I figured I’d go right to the source and ask.
This week I thought I would point you in the direction of an interview I did with one of the folks in charge of Podcast FM. He had a lot of interesting points about podcast and Web hosting, so check it out and let me know what you think.

If anybody else out there inside or outside of the Web hosting industry wants to get interviewed, just send me an E-mail to mitch@mitchkeeler.com and I’ll be sure to get back to you.
Do you have a Web hosting tip you’d like to share? Make sure you send it to mitch@mitchkeeler.com and who knows? It could be included on the very next edition of the Web Hosting Show.

The Web Hosting Show – One Year Later
It is hard to believe that I have been doing this show for a year now. I have a lot of people to thank for the success of this show. My thanks goes out to all of my Web Hosting Show supporters, all the news stories, all the Web hosting Web sites of the week. I also want to thank each and every one of you for making this the number one Web hosting podcast across the globe.
In the next year we will see things change. Hopefully most of it will be for the better. As this show evolves I hope you keep letting me know what you do like and what you don’t like. With over 500 of you listening to this podcast right now, I hope you stay tuned because the podcast is only going to get bigger and better.
Frappr Map
As a new addition to the Web Hosting Show layout, I have added a Frappr map! Now what is it and what do you do? All you need to do is add yourself to the map. Once we get a few more folks on there, it should show the world where exactly this podcast’s listeners are coming from. It is also a useful tool to meet other Web Hosting Show fans. So don’t delay, add yourself to the official Web Hosting Show Frappr Map!
Do you have a Web hosting topic of discussion you would like to hear me cover on the Web Hosting Show? Then make sure you send it to mitch@mitchkeeler.com and I’ll try to get it on the next episode of the Web Hosting Show.

Web Site Design Help, Support and Ideas
All of the Web Hosting Show’s design help is sponsored by BrowseHosts. BrowseHosts is the most comprehensive Web hosting directory out there today.
This week’s Web site that needs some help is The Web Host Industry Review.
Now they might have not asked for my help, but I’m going to give it anyways. Like I have said many times before, the WHIR is one of my favorite places to get Web hosting industry news. They could improve the layout of the Web site some though.
Right now there is just too much content and not an easy enough way to sort through all of it. Adding a few more colors and graphics to the layout would help to better define where one section of the Web site starts and the other section ends.
Other than that, I think it’ll work. Then again, they are more successful than I am, so maybe I’m not the right person to be tossing help around. Agree with me? Disagree with me? Let me know about it.
Do you need some help with your Web site design? Would you like me to just let you know what it is you could do to make your Web presence that much better? Make sure you contact me at mitch@mitchkeeler.com and I’ll try to get your questions answered and your Web site reviewed on the next episode of the Web Hosting Show.
Do you have a hot tip to share on who might be the next week’s winner or loser of the week? Make sure you drop me an E-mail and let me know about who they are and what they did.
