Hello I am the Web hosting industry’s media rock star, Mitch Keeler, and welcome to the Web Hosting Show, the one and only voice of the Web hosting world. This show is supported each and every week by the fine folks over at Web Hosting Chat. Web Hosting Chat is your number one place for Web hosting discussions.

What does it take to become successful in Web hosting? That is one question I get asked a lot. To tell you the truth, I’m still trying to figure out that question myself. I guess reputation building takes time.

A lot of the time we all want instant results for our actions, but in the real world, that just doesn’t happen. The best thing you can do is find something to do that you love, and give 150% into the work that you do. With all the hype and hoopla aside, the best stuff always rises to the top.

Have something you want to tell me one on one? Just send me an E-mail at mitch@mitchkeeler.com with all your feedback, thoughts, suggestions and comments and I’ll be sure to get back with you as soon as possible.

DemoDemo.com the leading provider of web hosting Flash Tutorials and maker of the DemoCenter, announced that it has begun offering its products on a subscription basis, making it the first provider in the industry to do so.The new service, which starts at just $10.00 per month, allows web hosts to offer their customers DemoDemo.com’s flash tutorials without making a significant initial investment. Mitch’s Take: This is big news for an Web host out there today that wants to provide a few flash tutorials for their clients. DemoDemo.com is the top resource out there today when it comes to getting these tutorials produced and out to your customers.

The number one complaint I have heard from Web hosts about DemoDemo.com is that some of the tutorials you can purchase were a little expensive. Well, nobody can claim that reason anymore. So if your a Web host looking to fill out your support pages a little more, give DemoDemo.com a chance.

Web Site Design Help

All of our Web site design help is brought to you by All Hosting Deals. Do you have a Web site layout that needs a little help? Send me a link at mitch@mitchkeeler.com.

Now this week I’m not going to review a Web site design. Instead, I have a tool for you that will make launching and designing your next Web site just a little easier.

WordPress is quickly becoming my favorite content management system. It is what I used to get both FirefoxFacts.com and HostingHoopla.com up and running. Now what makes it so great?

1. There was a quick install. The hardest part about the entire install process was setting up the MySQL stuff. With that out of the way though, it couldn’t have been more simple.

2. There are lots of different plugins and themes to play with to add more tools to your Web site. If you have spent any time at all working in HTML or CSS, getting these going shouldn’t be a problem at all.

So if your looking for a new backend of that new Web site you are planning, do me a favor and at least give WordPress a shot. I can promise you that you will like what you see.

Mitch’s Hosting Talking Points

You pick the topics and I talk about them. All of my Web hosting thoughts, views and ideas are brought to you by Data Center Talk. Do you have a topic you’d like to hear me discuss? Just drop me an E-mail at mitch@mitchkeeler.com.

For Web Hosts - How Do I Get Myself Known?

The number one question that I get from Web hosts is about getting themselves known Online. How do you build a client base and how do you build a reputation for yourself. That sad thing about this question is, there is no one answer. There will never be one key to find to open the locker of success. Success takes time to build.

1. Get out and discuss hosting on some of the Web hosting forums out there.

2. Purchase some ads via AdSense, or look on Web development forums for sponsorship deals.

3. Ask current clients to spread the word about you.

If you follow those three tips, then I can promise you that you will be going in the right direction when it comes to building your own Web hosting reputation Online.

For Hosting Clients - How Do I Find the Best Web Host?

Now the question I hear most from Web hosting clients is a little different. Most of the time when I get E-mails from regular folks, they want to know what the best Web host out there is. Well, once again there is no one solid answer. Is there one Web host out there that is better than all the rest? Probably not.

You see one Web host may be great in one area, but not so great in another one. Finding one Web host that is good at everything isn’t going to be an easy task to do. What you need to do is write down on a sheet of paper the qualities you are looking for in a Web hosting provider. Some of these questions might include:

1. How much bandwidth and disk space do I need?

2. How is the customer support like?

3. How often is work done on the servers?

That should get the Web hosting clients that are listening to this show on the right track to finding the Web host that is right for them.
