Google Does Domains

Oh my goodness, the trees are going to die. The birds are going to stop singing. Google has started to sell domain names!

It seems like a lot of folks out there in the Web hosting industry are claiming that because of this – the sky is going to fall. Personally, I do not see what the big deal is about it.

The argument is that if Google registers your domain names – then they will own your soul. No wait, I did not mean it that way. It would mean that they could hold search engine placement over your head though.

Would Google domains do better in Google than regular ones?

Now why is none of this going to happen? It is because Google does not want to be the controller of the Internet. Google wants to be the fast food of the Web hosting industry. A few months back we were told that their page builder and movement into the hosting industry was going to be a big deal. Was it? No. They threw up a WYSIWYG editor and left it at that. Not exactly the most in-depth hosting environment. I have a feeling the domain name registrations are going to be handled much in the same way.

If Google really focused their efforts on domain name registration, it would be more of a threat. Right now though, it sounds like they are not undercutting prices and are not offering anything folks can live without. From what I have read so far, they are reselling domains from GoDaddy and eNom. For $10 a pop, and only offering “.com,” “.net,” “.biz” and “.info.” domain extensions – there is no deal here. I can get it cheaper by going to GoDaddy and eNom themselves.

To read more about this topic, here are a few good resources to check out:

To make this a success, Google will have to find something better than the “Google Apps for Your Domain” to package this with. Unless people just pay because it is Google (and some people will) I doubt they are really going to make any real dent in the market. Google needs to offer a better deal or get out of the way – because they are just cluttering the market and not making it any more competitive.

The best way to do that on the Nuvi 650 is to enter point C first and then you should beable to enter point B as a Via Point. To do this get setup to go to point C then enter point B and it will ask you if you want to set it as a new destination or as a via point. Choose Via Point. If you need more clarification or have any other questions feel free to give Edge GPS a call at 877-477-6281.

First of all, why in the world do you have a 4 week old puppy? I’m much more worried about that than I am about her not pooping. If she’s really four weeks old, you need to make sure you have proper puppy formula. As for supplements, in my opinion, in most cases they’re more a ploy for the company to make money than they are a product that will genuinely help your dog (I believe the same thing about human supplements). There are some exceptions (for example, many arthritic dogs benefit from joint supplements), but generally as long as you feed your pet quality food and they get adequate exercise, they will be fine.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much rather the Zune Marketplace. The interface is decorative, has much more pizzazz, and some great features like ‘Mixview’ that let you swiftly see connected albums, songs, or other users related to what you might be playing. Clicking on 1 of those will center on that item, and one more set of “friends” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar performers, tunes, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” can be fantastic fun, letting you come across others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an combinations of what all your buddies are playing, which can also be enjoyable. People concerned with privacy will probably be relieved to find out you’ll be able to stop the public from seeing your personal listening routines in the event you so decide on.

I tried hundreds of proxies over many months. All I got out of it was a lot of frustration as they got blocked in short order. Well I got one more thing and that was a virus from one of them that wrecked my HD. Even when they worked for a while they were slow and didn’t support all the web site features. My friend in Riyadh told me about the Personal VPN. She’s kind of an expert on unblocking sites because she lives in a place where pretty much everything fun is blocked. Anyway, I tried it a few weeks ago and it’s been working all the time. I haven’t been blocked since and the sites are 100% functional. With the Personal VPN everything works like it’s supposed to. Once connected you don’t even know it’s there.
