Back on episode 111 of the Web Hosting Show the man in charge over at iNet Interactive Troy Augustine teased on this very podcast that there would soon be a web hosting wiki released by the Web Hosting Talk team. It looks like it was released early last week.
Where can you find it? Just type in WebHostingTalk.com/wiki into your browser and you will be on your way. At first glance it is kind of hard to figure out what exactly it is there for and how to use it – but once you dive in you can see there is a plethora of information to be had.
Ever been confused about a certain hosting term or concept? Worry no longer. Just search for it here and you will get a pretty good definition of what it is all about. As time goes by and more users participate I am sure this will grow into a very valuable resource. On the about page, it is pitched as a place where “the hosting industry can tell its on going story”. So one can think that more information such as company profiles, history of the business and more will be added over time.
Many of you out there might be wondering, what exactly is a wiki? Well it is a web site or online resource which allows users to add and edit content collectively. Will this wiki spawn off more hosting industry bigwigs wanting to create their own wikis on web hosting? Maybe so. Hopefully though one of them will come out as the leader of the pack. If anybody can create that type of resource, the folks behind Web Hosting Talk can.
